Compassionate, Professional Outpatient Services

Chronic Addiction Center provides compassionate outpatient services for adults and teens in Traverse City and across Northern Michigan. Since 2009, we have supported people facing addiction, trauma, mental health concerns, and difficult life transitions.

Our strictly outpatient approach allows patients to receive care while remaining connected to work, school, family, and everyday responsibilities. Walk-ins are welcome, and same-day appointments may be available.

Medication-Assisted Addiction Treatment

Chronic Addiction Center offers medication-assisted treatment for opioid and other substance use disorders. This approach uses appropriate medication alongside counseling and continued support to help patients pursue recovery. Care is shaped around each patient’s circumstances, whether they are seeking help for the first time, continuing treatment, or returning after a setback. Every patient is treated with dignity and without judgment.

Addiction Counseling and Recovery Support

Recovery often involves addressing the personal experiences, habits, and challenges connected to substance use. Counseling can help patients better understand their patterns, identify triggers, develop healthier coping strategies, and begin repairing areas of life affected by addiction. We work with adults and teens at different stages of recovery, providing ongoing support in an outpatient setting.

Trauma, Grief, and Life-Transition Counseling

We provide counseling for people affected by trauma, grief, divorce, and other significant life changes. Patients have a supportive place to discuss difficult experiences and work through their emotional impact at an appropriate pace. Our team brings a pastoral background to its work while respecting each patient’s individual beliefs and preferences.

Support for Survivors of Human Trafficking

Survivors of human trafficking may face emotional challenges that are difficult to navigate alone. Chronic Addiction Center provides sensitive, respectful counseling that recognizes the importance of trust, personal choice, and privacy. With us, patients can discuss their experiences without being pressured to share more than they are ready to address.

PTSD Support for Veterans

Chronic Addiction Center offers counseling for veterans experiencing post-traumatic stress and related concerns. Support may address trauma, grief, substance use, relationship difficulties, or the transition back into everyday life.

We provide a private environment where veterans can speak openly, feel heard, and receive steady support.

Counseling for Adults and Teens

Our counseling services are available to adults and teenagers, with support adapted to each patient’s age and circumstances. Teens may receive help with substance use, trauma, behavioral concerns, family difficulties, and other personal challenges. Younger patients receive the same compassion and respect offered to adults while being supported according to their specific needs.

Drug Testing Services

Chronic Addiction Center provides drug testing for individuals, families, teenagers, and local employers. Testing may be used for personal accountability, parental concerns, workplace policies, and other common needs. Because every situation is different, patients, parents, and employers can contact our team to discuss appropriate testing options.

Department of Corrections Counseling

We partner with the Department of Corrections to provide outpatient counseling. Participants can address applicable requirements while receiving respectful, constructive support. Our team looks beyond a person’s circumstances and provides an environment focused on accountability, personal growth, and greater stability.

Flexible Appointment Options

Patients may receive services in person or through virtual appointments. In-home options may also be available depending on the service, location, and individual circumstances. These flexible formats make it easier for patients throughout Northern Michigan to access outpatient care despite transportation, distance, health, or scheduling barriers.

Making Care More Accessible

Financing options are available, and GoodRx may help uninsured patients reduce certain prescription costs. Patients can also contact us to discuss insurance and payment options before beginning services.
